Bingo Application Process

To obtain a bingo license, the organization must be qualified. Qualified applicants are limited to one game site for a period of one year, which shall be in the city, borough or township where the main business office is located.

Allegheny County Treasurer John K. Weinstein is the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s exclusive agent for the issuance of bingo licenses in Allegheny County.

Qualifications

Allegheny County nonprofit organizations which have existed and conducted business in furtherance of their constitution, charter, articles of incorporation and by-laws for two years prior to application.

Senior citizen groups and fire departments may apply immediately upon being organized.

Regular Bingo License Application

If your organization is planning to conduct bingo for non-entertainment please complete this regular bingo license application.

Bingo License Application (Free)

If your Senior Housing Project is planning to conduct bingo for entertainment only for your members, please complete this FREE bingo license application.

Fees for Bingo Licensing set by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania:

$100 Qualified non-profits conducting games not more than twice in any one week.

$50 Qualified senior citizen groups conducting games not more than twice in any one week.

$15  Qualified non-profits conducting games only one period each year for not more than three consecutive days.

FREE  For qualified senior citizen housing project non-profits conducting games for their members only, where the games are conducted for entertainment purposes only and nominal prizes are awarded.

Games of Chance

Any eligible nonprofit organization can acquire a standard license for small games of chance, a special license for a raffle or a one-month license. Prize limits vary.

Eligibility

  • Normal business site is within a municipality that has passed the Small Games of Chance Act.
  • Charitable or religious organizations.
  • Branches, lodges or chapters of national or statewide veteran, civic, or fraternal organizations.
  • Local civic nonprofit organizations that have been recognized by resolution passed by the municipality in which the organization operates. Examples: Volunteer fire companies, wildlife and conservation groups, and sportsmen’s organizations.
    School booster groups that are established to promote and encourage participation and support for extra-curricular activities as long as said groups have been recognized as such by a resolution passed by the governing school board or directors.

License Requirements

The Small Games of Chance Act requires the license to be site specific and the license must be issued to the organization at its normal business site.

License Fees and Prize Limits

$125  Standard Small Games of Chance License  – License is valid for one (1) year from the date of issuance, and has a $2,000.00 prize limit. Renewable annually.

$25  Special Raffle Permit  – This permit can be obtained by any organization holding a valid license, and allows one (1) raffle per permit with an individual prize in excess of $2,000.00.

$25  One-Month License – This license is valid for thirty (30) consecutive days only and has a $2,000.00 prize limit.
